Barbecue Chicken Tacos

We absolutely love this delicious recipe for Barbecue Chicken Tacos. They are tasty, filling and definitely easy to make! Perfect for a buffet or if you’re having friends round – enjoy!


  • 2 Chicken Breasts
  • BBQ Sauce (For marinating the chicken)
  • 8 x Tortillas (Or taco cups if you are cheating!)
  • 200g Strong Cheddar Cheese (grated)
  • Shredded Lettuce
  • 200g Black Beans
  • Sour Cream
  • Lime Wedges


Step 1

In a large bowl, add the chicken (cut into small chunks) and the BBQ sauce. Season with salt and pepper and give it a good stir until all of the chicken is covered.

Step 2

Leave to marinade for 10 mins, and then cook in vegetable oil until all of the chicken is cooked all of the way through (add a bit more BBQ sauce in there, if you fancy). Then set to one side.

Step 3

If you're not cheating with the Taco Shells, first turn your oven on to about 180 degrees. Then using a baking tin, add a tortilla to each hole, making a cup shape - cook in the oven for 5-6 minutes until the tortillas have toasted and are crisp. Let them cool!

Step 4

Taking your tortilla/taco cups, add shredded lettuce to the bottom, marinated chicken, cheddar cheese, black beans, sour cream and a little drizzle of lime juice. To finish these off, add another sprinkle of cheese to the top and grill until melted... Then demolish in seconds!
