Meet our team – Nicole & Louise

Behind the Scenes - Sales Team, Episode 3

We here at Rectella (Bar-Be-Quick) take our customer experience very seriously and so we thought you might like a glimpse in to the magic that is our wonderful company. By creating this series of blogs we are giving you the chance to meet our team and learn a bit more about them.

In today’s episode we are introducing you to our fabulous Sales Co-ordinators Nicole and Louise…

Nicole Burgess

Age: 28
Where are you from?: Clitheroe – Lancashire
Department: Sales

• What was your first ever job?
My first ever PROPER job was in Accounts in Clitheroe (Shout out to Towers & Gornall) – I was only 18 and was still actually taking my A-Levels. I never wanted to go to Uni I just wanted to get out an earn a crust!
I was one of the receptionists and it really opened my eyes to ‘real life’…

• What’s your role at Rectella?
My role at Rectella is a ‘Sales Co-ordinator’ – I support the Account Managers with the day to day running of our Customers’ Accounts, it is a really varied role, and includes lots of figures and spreadsheets! There is also lots of different things we do behind the scenes but this is it in a nutshell!

• How long have you worked for Rectella?
I started working at Rectella on 19th October 2015 – so just over 5 years…

• How do you describe your role to your friends?
Winter = Calm,  Summer = Chaos.

• What is the least rewarding part of your role?
I don’t like to think negatively about any part of my job – however currently the least rewarding part of my job is the fact we can’t go into the office to see my colleagues! I am missing them!

• What’s the best part of your role?
The best part of my job is how varied it is – no 2 days are the same especially during spring/summer when we are at our busiest! So the fact no 2 days are the same really keep you on your toes!

• If you could switch roles with anyone at Rectella, who would it be?
I wouldn’t switch! I love my role in Sales!

• What are 3 words to describe Rectella?
Worthwhile
Hectic
Gratifying

• What is on your wish list for the next 10 years at Rectella?
To carry on doing the best job I can doing – and I wish for lots of hot summers!

• What is your favourite part of working for Rectella?
When we are allowed, I love the fact that we have an open office, and all departments are under one roof/room – we can have a lot of banter and it has a really good atmosphere.

What is your proudest moment at Rectella?
My proudest moment – would be actually getting my job in the first place. I was brand new to sales, had no experience and getting this job and the things that I have learned in the last 5 years have been incredible in both my working life and home life! I have definitely ‘grown up’ in my time here and through the good, the bad and the ugly everything has had its lessons!

Louise Donoghue

Age: 33
Where are you from?: Originally from down south but have been living in Lancashire for 5 years
Department: Sales

• What was your first ever job?
I started working at the age of 16 as a checkout assistant at Sainsbury’s, it was the only large supermarket in the town I grew up in so a lot of my friends from school worked there also.

• What’s your role at Rectella?
I am a Sales Co-ordinator, I assist Emma Westall (key account manager) in the day to day running of her accounts as well as assisting the rest of the sales team in general where required.
I also help with the social media platforms out of season.

• How long have you worked for Rectella?
Since September 2020 so 4 months although it feels like a lot longer (in a good way!)

• How do you describe your role to your friends?
I help sell BBQs, charcoal and related accessories

• What is the least rewarding part of your role?
Can’t say I have come across anything particularly unrewarding yet, however Covid and Brexit combined are causing issues for many and we are dealing with the obstacles thrown at us as best we can.

• What’s the best part of your role?
So many positives to choose from but so far a highlight has been winning new business and helping the company grow

• If you could switch roles with anyone at Rectella, who would it be?
Design, I am quite creative and arty so would enjoy that.

• What are 3 words to describe Rectella?
Dedicated, Trustworthy, Quality

• What is on your wish list for the next 10 years at Rectella?
Brand growth and awareness, continued success and to have people barbecuing all year round!

• What is your favourite part of working for Rectella?
The support from my team and the company has been amazing, starting my role during a pandemic has been very challenging but I have found it a lot easier to manage due to the incredible people I work with.
It’s a positive, can do attitude that makes all the difference!

• What is your proudest moment at Rectella?
My proudest moment so far was receiving personal praise and thanks from the head of the company for a presentation I reworked.
Oh, and I won the company Christmas Quiz! Haha!
